The Ambu Man is an adult-sized training manikin that provides an exceptionally lifelike representation of the human anatomy, particularly those features important to training in modern resuscitation techniques.

Ambu's patented hygienic system protects the student and makes internal cleaning entirely unnecessary. The stiffness of the chest is infinitely variable, allowing students to train on different body builds. The Ambu Man is ACD CPR-compatible. Airways open only when head is correctly hyperextended. A carotid pulse can be activated manually by the instructor. It is also activated during chest compressions. Ambu® I.V. Trainer is meant for training insertion of cannulas and catheters, infusion of fluids, injection of medication, blood-sampling and pulse measurement.

Replaceable skin and veins are made of natural latex, which features hole closure after penetration, extending the lifetime of the arm. The movable wrist and rotating arm ensure absolutely realistic training, especially when a catheter is placed on the back of the hand.

Connect the Ambu Man to the computers

The Ambu CPR Software Kit allows you to use all facilities offered by your Ambumanikin with a computer connection. It consists of an interface cable, including an analogue digital converter (ADC) and Windows-based CPR software, enabling you to plan, monitor, record and print your training sessions with the computer and printer you already have.
It is now possible to connect the Ambu Man to the computers USB communication port.

In order to plan training sessions, the software comprises a course planner as well as a trainee database, allowing you to personalize and plan training sessions or a whole day's training.

You can choose to train according to Guideline 2000 recommendations (AHA, ERC, ARC, HSFC, CLAR, NZRC and RCSA) or, if preferred, to ones of your own making. The software monitors all existing CPR parameters online, enabling the trainer to survey the training session.

In addition, the trainer has the option of recording the time of events (e.g. shake test, head tilt/open airway). Where more than one CPR Software Kit is purchased, a trainer can simultaneously survey and record the performance of two or more teams from one PC/laptop. During a training session or break you can evaluate the data transmitted on-screen. The software offers the possibility of modifying the displayed time interval (zoom in/out), to measure time intervals and compression/ventilation values. Furthermore, a comprehensive graphic and numerical test result table is available. All information can be saved and printed, in order to document each individual training session. CardioSim Digital Heart Sound Teaching System	....an unparalleled system for teaching heart sounds.
The CardioSim is an unparalleled system for teaching heart sounds. It allows complete control over heart rate (50-240 bpm). Individual clicks, snaps or murmurs can be added or removed to allow the student to learn every element of a sound - one part at a time. For example, if listening to mitral stenosis, initially the student hears just the first and second heart sound. Then an opening snap is added. Once familiar with this, a middiastolic murmur is added followed by presystolic accentuation. If regurgitation is desired, a blowing holosystolic murmur is added. By adding and taking out murmurs, clicks or other sounds, the student is able to learn one part of the sound complex at a time. As a result, they learn quickly and retain more. There are a variety of sounds presented just for timing. For example, in learning the splitting of the second sound, the student first listens to S1 and A2. He/she then adds P2 at different time intervals. Respiration can also be added to show its effect on the splitting. If listening to mitral valve prolapse, the click can be moved from midsystole to late systole to show the effect of squatting. Every sound is displayed as a phonocardiogram on a monitor simultaneously with an ECG. A program guide is supplied on the computer screen so the description of the sound is presented simultaneously with sound. Listening is done with the built-in low frequency speaker or, if desired, with the Cardionics Infrared Sound System. For giving a lecture, the instructor can preprogram a lecture so that he/she need only press one key to advance from one sound to the next. The system allows for a number of different lectures for each instructor. The CardioSim is for use on a Windows platform. As such, Microsoft Power Point can be used to enhance a presentation and there are a number of slide/images and slide/sound files that are supplied as part of the system that can be added to the lecture in any sequence desired. The display is 15" LCD color flat screen monitor. A large screen projector can be connected easily for group presentations. The system is sold complete and ready to use. It is easy to use for both student and instructor. A trained Cardionics representative always comes in for a training session. One of the new, interesting features of the CardioSim is the addition of images and animation. There are over 125. For example, in studying mitral stenosis, the student can view a calcified mitral valve or watch an animation of mitral stenosis in a beating heart. Here's how it works (click on image for larger picture)... #1.Start the CardioSim with a simple S1 & S2. Your students hear the sound and see the Phonocardiogram with the ECG trace. #2. Now it gets interesting. Add an opening snap and your students see and hear it occuring after S2. If they need further help, simply remove S1 and S2 leaving only the snap. Then slowly re-build the sound until they really get the hang of it. Cardionics #3.The sound continues to get more complex when you add a middiastolic murmur and your students see and hear it occurring after S2. Increase the intensity from a grade 1 to grade 6 (or anything in-between) and feel free to remove any component of the sound until they see the big picture. #4.To complete the sound, add a presystolic accentuation just before S1. Now add or remove any murmur or the opening snap. Try this again in a month to see how much your students have retained. We know you'll be pleasantly surprised!

PneumoSim Digital Breath Sound Simulator
The PneumoSim is a most unusual teaching instrument. It contains both simulated and real breath sounds. The underlying theory is that the student can learn the sounds more easily using simulated sounds, then listen to the same sound under study from a real patient. When using the simulated sounds, the instructor (or student) can control many of the aspects of how the sounds are presented. They can be played just as they are or they can be altered. Because of the great variety of sounds produced by patients, it is difficult to produce a single sound of a particular condition that fits everyone. Therefore, the simulator allows the user to make a number of changes to the existing sounds. These changes can be saved, if desired, and recalled at will. The changes that can be made to any sound are: respiration rate (from 10 to 100 breaths per minute), the display of the sound can be changed from one to seven cycles, the I:E ratio can be changed, adventitious sounds can be added to any normal sound, the position of the adventitious sounds can be changed (first 1/3, second 1/3, third 1/3, any combination of the foregoing, or full. The sounds can be changed from inspiration to expiration or vice versa, The length of the expiration can be controlled, The pause at the end expiration can be altered or eliminated, Another pause at the end of inspiration may be added, The display can be shown as an upward ramp for inspiration and downward for expiration or changed to a flat display. The breath sounds are superimposed on the display so the user will know exactly where in the cycle they appear. The library of sounds covers all normal and practically all abnormal sounds. Egophony is also included as spoken voice (1,2,3 - normal and abnormal), whispered voice (1,2,3 - normal and abnormal) and spoken voice (99 - normal and abnormal). The PneumoSim also contains a built-in patient auscultation unit that allows the instructor or student to listen to their own or patient sounds from their institution. These sounds can be digitally recorded, if desired, and played back at will. After recording, they can be filtered to reduce background noise. The PneumoSim can be added to the CardioSim Digital Heart Sound Simulator. In this mode, the total system will present breath sounds, heart sounds, bowel sounds, arrhythmia recognition, echocardiograms, chest X-rays, and 12 lead electrocardiograms.
