Since the last edition we've added 52 more charts and divided the anatomy and pathology topics into two volumes, to aid in visual comparisons between normal and diseased states. The 59 pathology topics are segmented by therapeutic area with divider pages and charts are alphabetized within each area. The 41 anatomy topics are also organized alphabetically. The easel stands for the two books are sturdier than the previous edition's and allow for easier use. We've included a beautiful and professional-looking box to house these more comprehensive volumes.

With updated images and text and improved design elements, this new edition chart provides an easy-to-understand overview of the important anatomical aspects of heart disease. The progression of heart disease in atherosclerosis is shown in three stages, each with an anatomical image of the surface or cross-section of the heart, a cross-section of an artery, and a cross-section of the heart wall. The stages show how a narrowed artery leads to ischemia; how a blocked artery leads to a myocardial infarction (heart attack); and show the recovery period with collateral blood supply.

The chart also shows heart disease in hypertension which can lead to hypertrophy and dilation of the left ventricle. Congestive heart failure, mitral valve prolapse, and the effects of aging on the heart are also illustrated and described.

This Second Edition of the Hip and Knee Anatomical Chart is completely updated! The main figure shows basic skeletal and ligament anatomy. Detail on the hip joint is provided with lateral, anterior, and posterior views. The chart shows bones and ligaments and also illustrates movement of the hip: adduction, abduction, extension, and flexion.

Various views of the knee are shown—oblique, anterior (patella removed), and posterior. Bones and ligaments are shown, and the posterior view also includes popliteus muscle. Line drawing figures illustrate flexion and extension movement of the knee joint.

The Second Edition of our Understanding Type 2 Diabetes Anatomical Chart has been simplified for easier and faster comprehension. The chart defines type 2 diabetes and the role of glucose and insulin in the body, and lists symptoms, risk factors, and ways to control the disease.

This revised chart shows glucose molecules from the digestive system and insulin molecules from the pancreas traveling in a blood vessel. Illustrations visually compare a normal body cell to a body cell with diabetes and show when the cell develops a resistance to insulin, making it more difficult for glucose to enter the cell and leading to build-up of glucose in the blood vessel.

The chart textually and visually presents complications from the disease: heart disease, stroke, vascular disease, nerve damage (neuropathy), kidney disease (nephropathy), periodontal disease (gum disease and mouth infection), and eye diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, and diabetic retinopathy.
