based on the new curriculum. The test contains over 1100 questions and answers
which can be launched from 34 chapters. One can also access and take the entire
test with a click of a button. Tests can be taken on-screen or printed out in a
variety of ways. The software is able to print out answer sheets and answer
sheet correction keys for easy test correcting. The user can also create their
own test as well.Features 1) Twice as many questions as Version 2.0 - Signal 18 - Version 3.0 has over 1100 questions based on the New National Curriculum. 2) Ten New Chapters - Version 3.0 has 10 new chapter headings for more specific tests - 34 in all vs 24 in version 2.0. 3) The Ability To Add Notes To Each Question - We have given the user a pop up window that can be used to add additional question information, notes, or comments to each one of the questions. Simply click on the "Notes" button to add or view notes. We also made the software smart enough so it can detect if a note for a particular question is present. If a note exists, the note button appears on screen. If no note exists the button remains hidden. 4) The Ability To Add Graphic Images To Each Question - Pictures can be add to each question in a variety of different file formats. As with the notes feature, if a graphic image is attached to a question, a "Show Picture" button will appear on the screen. Please note that in this version graphic images can not be printed out. 5) Seven Ways To Print Out Questions - A) Print out questions without answers B) Print out questions with answers - The correct answer is listed at the end of each question. C) Print out questions without answers, but with the notes that were added to each question D) Print out questions with answers and notes E) Print answers only - Prints a list of all correct answers in the specific test generated. F) Create answer sheets - Will print out answer sheets specific to the number of questions that were asked. If you generate a test of 20 questions, it will generate an answer sheet with 20 potential answers. G) Create answer sheet correction key - Prints out a sheet specific to your custom test that resembles the answer sheet except that all the correct answers are marked with a "X" instead of the letter. Simply punch out all the x's and lay the key over the answer sheet to quickly and accurately correct a test. Note: Answer keys are accurate whether you randomize the questions or ask them in order. 6) New Ways Of Answering Questions On-Screen - A) Use Answer Button - This was the only way to answer questions in version 2.0. The user would select an answer by clicking and "Option Button", then click the "Answer Button" to see if the question was correct. They would then click then "Next Button" to proceed to the next question. Some users reported that this was time consuming and slowed them down. So, we added three new ways to answer the test online. They are described below...Read on. B) Bypass Answer Button - This allows the user to simply click on a "Option Button" and the question is recorded being answered, displaying whether or not you answered the question correctly. There is no need to click the answer button. The downside is that you can't change your mind once you selected the answer. C) Turbo Answer- Turbo Answer is for those who want to fly through the questions quickly. When selected the program will bypass all navigational buttons. The user simply answers the question by clicking the "Option Button" and the software records whether the question was answered correctly or incorrectly, and proceeds directly to the next question. A box appears and tells you whether the question was answered correctly or incorrectly. Your score is recorded in the score box. D) Don't Tell Me How I'm Doing - This works similar to Turbo Answer, but the software does not tell you if you answered the question correctly or incorrectly. The score box is hidden from view. You learn to test yourself using similar pressures that exist when taking a real test. By taking tests in this fashion, one may learn to deal with pressures exerted while taking real tests. 7) The Ability To Display Questions That Were Incorrectly Answered- Signal 18 Version 3.0 keeps track of all the questions you incorrectly answered. You can display all the incorrectly answered tests by chapter or you can display all incorrectly answered questions from the entire database. 8) Create Random Test With A Specific Number Of Questions - For example, if you need to create a random test of 25 Human Body questions, you can create the 25 random questions with a simple click of the mouse. Specific random tests can be generated for each chapter or the entire database can be randomized. These all can be printed out as well. 9) Create Random Tests With A Specific Number Of Questions From Specific Chapters - Now you can create tests containing a specific number of randomly choosen questions from specific chapters. Choose up to ten chapters to include in your tests. Easy-to-use chapter list boxes make it a snap to create random tests from specific chapters in a matter of seconds. 9) OPTIONAL - TestMaker Module - We have bundled this version of Signal 18 with TestMaker which allows the user to create up to 21 custom tests which can be stored in the Signal 18 database. You can create custom button titles for each of your tests. This feature is designed for the EMT instructor who needs to be able to pick and choose questions from a variety of chapters. The module allows the user to create up to 21 different user defined chapters, The module also gives the user the power to pick and choose specific questions. For example, if you want to create a test made up of 10 Human Body questions, 10 Baseline Vital Signs questions, and 10 Patient Assessment questions you would follow the following steps. 1) Scroll through the questions using the VCR buttons until you see a question you would like to add to a custom chapter 2) Click - Add Question To TestMaker. 3) This would take you to another screen where the question would be displayed as well as a list box containing all your custom test chapters. 4) Click on a chapter title from the list box, give the test question a number, and click "Add Question To Test Bank. Your question is now displayed on the screen in the proper chapter title. 5) Click "Return To Last Question" to move back to your original location so you can proceed selecting other questions. That is all there is to it. The TestMaker Upgrade is an additional $19.95. Study Helper. 2) On-Screen Timer - Shows how fast you can answer the questions 3) On-Screen Scoring - The score box calculates and displays your score. 4) Complete On-Line Help 5) User a friendly interface that requires almost no time to master. 6) Able To edit, delete or create a new question in any chapter in the program.
