 E-Scope II  Clinical Model

.....the most advanced electronic stethoscope available  today

Welcome to the most advance electronic stethoscope available today and the only electronic stethoscope that allows you to change heads!

Slim-line design.   The E-Scope is a slim-line design that easily wraps around the neck when not in use.  It is lighter than an acoustic stethoscope.

Finger-tip Control.  All the controls for volume and heart sound or breath sound filters are on  the head of the stethoscope making it easy for the user to set the volume or filter.

Volume control.  On the stethoscope head, there is a + and – symbol that allows the user to increase or decrease the sound level very easily. The E-Scope II  amplifies heart and breath sounds with up to 64 gain positions.   At maximum volume, the E-Scope II is 30x louder than an acoustic stethoscope!

Filter control.  A frequency switch for heart sounds (45-900 Hz) and breath sounds (50-2000 Hz).  This allows the listener to concentrate on a particular sound

Automatic shut off.  The E-Scope shuts off automatically after two minutes.

Automatic volume restart.  The E-Scope remembers the last volume setting so that when it is turned on,  the volume will be set to the previous volume.

Off-the-Shelf Battery.  The E-Scope uses a standard off-the-shelf AAA battery that operates the E-Scope for 6-8 months assuming usage at 30 times per day, 6 days per week.  Replacement batteries are available at any supermarket or drug store.

Extra ear tips.  The E-Scope is supplied with two additional types of ear tips
so the user can select the most comfortable – soft rubber, hard plastic or mushroom type.

Ability to change heads.  Most electronic stethoscopes have a fixed diaphragm with an electronic switch to change to a bell.  Most physicians, however, prefer a physical bell as is found on an standard acoustic stethoscope.  A real bell allows the physician to listen to lower frequencies in a manner in which he/she is most accustomed.  A bell is used to listen to the lower frequencies and has no diaphragm touching the skin.  By pressing the bell on the skin, it can be stretched forming a natural diaphragm.  The E-Scope II includes an adult and pediatric diaphragm, 2 types of earpieces, including the soft cushion type and carrying case.

It even comes with a 1 year warranty and lifetime technical support.

E-Scope® II Pediatric Model Electronic

.....the most advanced electronic stethoscope available  today

Chest pieces.  The E-Scope Pediatric model is the same as the E-Scope Clinical model, cat. no.  718-7700, except that it is supplied with a Specialist Pediatric Bell as well as a Specialist Adult Diaphragm and Specialist Adult Bell.  This model is also supplied with a pediatric diaphragm.

The E-Scope is supplied with two additional types of ear tips  so the user can select the most comfortable – soft rubber, hard plastic or mushroom type.

Selection of diaphragms and bells.   The E-Scope Pediatric model is the same as the E-Scope Clinical model, cat. no.  718-7700, except that it is supplied with a Specialist Pediatric Bell as well as a Specialist Adult Diaphragm and Specialist Adult Bell.  This model is also supplied with a pediatric diaphragm

Less amplification of room noise.  The design of the E-Scope significantly
reduces the amplification of unwanted outside room noise when used in the heart sound setting.  When used in the lung sound setting, there is a little more noise introduced due to the wider frequency band.

Maximum Amplitude.   For the E-Scope II, the maximum amplitude or sound pressure level output without distortion is 120 dB at 100 Hz.  This is about 30 times louder than an acoustic stethoscope.

Operator’s Manual and Instructional CD-ROM.  A complete Operator’s Manual as well as an informal instructional CD-ROM is included with each E-Scope.

E-Scope uses.  General clinical medicine, medical professionals who wear hearing aids, paramedics for ambulance use, isolation wards and Hazmat areas and cervical auscultation (speech pathology).

Hearing Impaired Belt Model E-Scope : In-the-Ear Hearing Ear

.....the most advanced electronic stethoscope available  today

Welcome to the only electronic stethoscope that allows you to change heads!  It even comes with a 1 year warranty and lifetime technical support.
The E-Scope II is an electronic stethoscope that amplifies heart and breath sounds with up to 64 gain positions.   At maximum volume, the E-Scope II is 30x louder than an acoustic stethoscope!

The E-Scope Electronic Stethoscope, cat. nos. 718-7750 ($450.00) or 718-7710 ($396.00), is designed for individuals with in-the-ear (ITE) type hearing aids.  Both are supplied with low-frequency headphones that should be placed over the ears.  The ITE hearing aids are not removed.

The dB level of the E-Scope is 130 dB SPL.  This is approximately 30 times louder than a normal acoustic stethoscope.  The difference between the above two models is that cat. no. 718-7750 is supplied with two Specialist Heads (bell and diaphragm) while model 718-7710 is supplied with a Specialist Diaphragm.  The Specialist heads are machined from high-grade stainless.  They provide a superior frequency input (by 50%) which improves sound sensitivity and they have a heavier feel and less likelihood of outside noise.  This is important for a hearing impaired user.

Both of the above stethoscopes clip onto the belt or lab coat or the belt clip can be removed.  The normal stethoscope earpieces have been removed and replaced with an external set of low frequency headphones.  These headphones are placed over the ears without removing the hearing aid.  This has worked very well for the vast majority of hearing aid users.

Enclosed is the literature for your review.

The E-Scope amplifies the heart and/or breath sounds or Korotkoff sounds. It has maximum amplitude or sound pressure level output of 130 dB distortion without distortion (about 30 times that of an acoustic stethoscope).  Additionally, the sounds are amplified without appreciable amplification of room or background noise.  This makes it much easier to hear a low, rumbling murmur or faint AI blows.  A frequency switch allows the user to switch between heart and breath sound frequencies. The stethoscope has several features as follows:

1.  An output that allows the user to connect

(a) to earphones for placing over a hearing aid, Cardionics cat. no. 718-0405,

(b) a second listener using a stethophone or headphone,

(c)  a PDA  for display of heart sounds on the Pocket Monitor software,

(d) a  computer or

(e) a tape recorder,2.  A frequency switch for heart sounds (20-1000 Hz) and breath sounds (70-2000 Hz),

3.  A variable volume control,

  1. Extra ear tips,s
  2. A selection of diaphragms and bells
  3. A replaceable AAAV. battery that will operate the E-Scope for approximately 6-8 months depending upon use.
  4. A timer automatically turns the unit off after two minute to save battery life.  In fact, the E-Scope does not have an OFF button.  It turns itself off automatically and remembers the last volume setting so when it is turned on again, the volume is set to its previous level.
  5. The warranty is one years (parts and labor).
  6. All the volume and filter controls are on the stethoscope head allowing for one-hand control.
  7. Technical Support: Lifetime

IMPORTANT NOTE:  Hearing deficiencies vary considerably from person to person.  Your audiologist is the best source of information on your particular hearing problem.  You should consult with your audiologist if you have any specific questions about the use of your hearing aid with the E-Scope Electronic Stethoscope or any similar device.

Additional: Need DAI or Silhouette Cord

Aviation Style Headphones.  To minimize outside noise and enhance comfort, the E-Scope EMS Electronic Stethoscope utilizes aviation-style headphones.  The padded seal around the ears and insulation inside the headphones significantly reduce outside noise allowing the paramedic to hear soft breath and/or heart sounds in an ambulance or other noisy environment.  The ear pads provide cushioned comfort for long-term use.
Finger-tip Control.  All the controls for volume and heart sound or breath sound filters are on the stethoscope chestpiece and as well as on the headphone.
Volume Control.  On the stethoscope chestpiece, the + or  – symbol is pressed to increase or decrease the sound volume.  On the headphone, a toggle switch increases or decreases the sound volume.  The toggle switch is easily operated with a gloved finger.
Breath and Heart Sound Filter Control.  Since breath sounds are in the 50-1600 Hz range and heart sounds are in the 50-700 Hz range, the E-Scope  EMS can be adjusted to concentrate on these frequency ranges.  The ·  symbol on the stethoscope chestpiece switches the frequency response between these two ranges.  A push button on the headphone is also available for a quick frequency response change.
Automatic Shut Off.  To extend the life of the AA battery, the E-Scope EMS shuts off automatically after 1.5 minutes (an optional 8-minute shut off is available.)   .
Automatic Volume Restart.  When the E-Scope is turned ON, it remembers the last volume setting thus keeping new volume adjustments to a minimum
Off-the-Shelf Battery.  The E-Scope EMS uses a standard off-the-shelf AA battery that operates the E-Scope EMS for about 5 months assuming usage at 30 times per day, 6 days per week.  Replacement batteries are available wherever batteries ae sold.

This model is also supplied with a pediatric diaphragm.

Features and Benefits

Specialist Bell.  Cardionics supplies an optional Specialist stainless steel bell as well as a Pediatric Specialist Bell.  The performance of the Adult Specialist Diaphragm has a 3 dB (or 40%) higher output than the standard Diaphragm over the 20 to 200 Hz frequency range.

Specialist Bell

SpecialistTM Diaphragm.  The E-Scope EMS is supplied with the Specialist Adult Diaphragm.  Machined from high-grade stainless steel and fitted with a plastic non-chill ring for patient comfort, the Specialist Adult Diaphragm has a sound sensitivity more than 40% greater than a stamped metal or plastic diaphragm while reducing outside ambient noise.

"Just wanted to say thanks for your help a couple of weeks ago, and fast turnaround getting me the specialist diaphragm.  It is absolutely superb.  Terrific isolation from environmental sounds and increased clarity of lung and heart sounds.  Many times better than with the stock diaphragm.  The E-Scope is my favorite amplified stethoscope, and I have tried two other brands." (Robert Warren, MD, Houston, TX)

Texas oldest working EMT uses the E-Scope II to further his career.

"While I'm not hearing impaired, I get repeated outer ear infections and I'm grateful for your product.  So many of us suffer from sore ears from repeated micro-trauma to the ear canals"

(Dr. Stuart Dyment)

"When using the E-Scope II for Blood Pressures and Heart Sounds, the device is so good that I don't even have to tell a patient to take a deep breath to hear the breath sounds"(Joanne DeFilippo, R.N.Brigham and Woman's Hospital).

INTRODUCING The Specialist Line of Heads for your E-Scope  Electronic Stethoscope E-Scope®

To enhance the performance of the E-Scope a set of  stainless steel bells and diaphragms has been developed. Called The Specialist heads, these finely crafted instrument heads can be supplied with any E-Scope model or can be purchased separately.
The Specialist heads consist of a stainless steel bell and stainless steel diaphragm each with a Delrin chill ring. They provide a superior heft and comfortable feel.
More importantly, they provide a higher signal output allowing the user to hear sounds in the correct physiologic frequency range. They also allow the user to use the split-finger technique where the stethoscope head is placed between the index and middle finger.

The E-Scope Electronic Stethoscope is the only electronic stethoscope on the market that allows you to change stethoscope heads.

Weighing in at over 2.1 ounces, the optional Specialist Series Diaphram will remind you of your acoustic stethoscope's feel - but that is where the similarities end.

These heavy stainless steel custom heads feature fully washable stainless steel construction, black Delrin non-chill rings and help to produce unmatched sound quality.

Add these heads to your E-Scope II, or purchase the E-Scope II Specialist Series Stethoscope to receive both the adult diaphragm and the bell.
